For many patients, their desire for a rhinoplasty is to feel more confident and attractive in their appearance. It is not uncommon for patients to come in for their initial consultation and share that they just don’t feel their nose matches the rest of their features. Luckily, a rhinoplasty is the perfect procedure to fix this.
WHY HAVE RHINOPLASTY?
Rhinoplasty is a very common and often requested cosmetic procedure. Many patients have very specific requests when it comes to reshaping, resizing and harmonizing their nose with the rest of their face.
Rhinoplasty can definitely make these requests a reality and set you up for a future where you feel more attractive, more self-confident and more satisfied with your presentation and appearance.
As well, because rhinoplasty is such a common procedure, it is now very safe and can be done to minimize the amount of healing and recovery time required. So you don’t have to set aside a tremendous amount of time to have your rhinoplasty and recover.

In the meantime, here are some of the most frequently asked questions our patients bring to their consultation appointments.
How do I know if I am a candidate for an Erbium-YAG Laser Wash™?
An individual consultation with one of our plastic surgeons, Dr. Agarwal, Dr. Maloney, or Dr. Gill, is the best way to determine which procedure is best suited to meet your goals. During this consultation, the surgeon will examine you, and discuss which laser is ideal for your face and needs.
How long will the procedure last?
An Arctic Laser Wash™ is performed in the office with local anesthesia. At minimum, topical anesthetic cream is applied. Often, nerve block injections are also administered by the physician to numb areas of the face. Some patients may choose to have an oral prescription medication to help them relax prior to the procedure.
What kind of post-treatment care is required after an Arctic Peel™ or Arctic Laser Wash™?
Usually gentle cleansing and application of Aquaphor ointment is required until you peel. With the Arctic peel™, this may take 2-3 days. With the Arctic Laser Wash™, this may take 4-7 days.
After an Arctic Peel™ or Arctic Laser Wash™, how long will the laser sites be red?
a. After an Arctic Peel™, the laser sites are usually pink for about 5-7 days, but make-up can be used to cover this 3 days after treatment.
b. After an Arctic Laser Wash™, camouflage make-up can be worn 5-7 days after the procedure. The pink color will face to normal skin color over an average of 3-4 weeks.
Does an Arctic Laser Wash™ hurt?
With a deeper Arctic Laser Wash™, patients experience a burning sensation for an average of 3-4 hours, after which they have a tight sensation. The tight sensation is alleviated by application of Aquaphor ointment and improves once the skin peels (average day 4-7).
